How it works

How lembray works, day to day.

For carers, families and managers.

Each organisation decides how lembray fits into its care. Here is what each person sees and does.

Book a conversation

Three simple steps

From a conversation to a storybook.

Microphone icon

1. Choose a chapter

The carer opens the person’s storybook and picks a chapter of their life, such as Early Days, then a story within it, like Where I grew up.

Voice recording icon

2. Ask and record

lembray shows guided questions for that story, each tagged as everyday, gentle or sensitive. The carer asks one or two and records the answers in the app, on a phone or tablet.

Family hands icon

3. Share

Each story is transcribed and becomes a page in their storybook. The family members you share it with can read every story and listen to the voice in the lembray app.

For carers

Your team will always know where to begin.

A library of conversation starters, written for care, guides each conversation. Carers choose a question or two and follow the person’s lead.

18 chapters of a life

From Early Days and Work and Purpose to The Kitchen Table and Messages for the Future.

A gentler touch

Every question is tagged as everyday, gentle or sensitive, with a short note for carers where a topic needs care.

Never a memory test

Questions ask about sounds, smells, places and people, the details that unlock the richest stories.

The next conversation, ready

After each recording, lembray suggests follow-up questions. Each morning, Today’s conversation shows who has a story waiting. And carers are credited on every story they record.

For families

Give families a reason to feel close.

Families receive every new story as it is added, in their loved one’s own voice, wherever they live. They can add photographs, record their own memories, suggest questions and comment.

For managers

See it working, without extra paperwork.

A live dashboard shows who is taking part, how many stories each person has and when they last recorded, with a short summary by email every month.

Handover notes help the next shift pick up where the last left off. They show chapter names only, never the content of anyone’s stories.

For the person

Their story belongs to them.

Me, Today

Captures who the person is now: their routines, their comforts and what they want the people around them to know. It sits alongside your care plan; it is not a clinical assessment.

Their voice, their choice

Every chapter is optional. When someone can no longer remember a story, a family member can write one about a moment they treasured, and the person reads it aloud.

All features

Everything your team needs, kept simple.

Care Portal

One place for your office to manage the people you support, their families and your carers.

Carer logins

Your office creates each carer’s login. Carers only see the people assigned to them, and access ends the moment a carer leaves.

Authorised family access

Every family member’s access is authorised by your office and recorded, so you always know who can see what.

Conversation library

Hundreds of questions across 18 chapters, tagged as everyday, gentle or sensitive.

Activity dashboard and monthly summary

See who is taking part at a glance, with a summary every month.

Follow-up questions

After each recording, lembray suggests a follow-up question for next time.

Handover notes

Chapter-level only, never story content.

Record in the app

Carers record in the lembray app on a phone or tablet. Nothing is needed from the person but their stories.

Every language

Automatic transcription, and translation for families spread across countries.

We set it up for you

If you would like, fill in one simple template and we load your people, carers and family contacts for you. You can export your records at any time.

A keepsake

The full storybook can be downloaded as a PDF.

Passed on with care

When someone dies, their storybook can be transferred to a family member to keep.

What if your team could know every person a little better?

Let’s talk about what that could look like in your organisation.
