Lembray is a voice-first family memory preservation platform. It lets anyone record their stories in their own voice, automatically transcribes them into a beautiful digital book, and shares them with family members who can read and listen whenever they want - forever.
Lembray comes from the Portuguese word lembrai - which means remember. We chose it because Lembray began in Portugal, with one family, and one grandfather's voice.

No. Lembray does not use AI companions, guided questions or weekly prompts. We believe the best stories come from people who are simply given the freedom to speak. Press record and tell the story freely - or upload a file from any voice recorder. The technology stays entirely out of the way.
Not at all. If you can press record on a phone, you can use Lembray. For family members who are not comfortable with smartphones, you can upload recordings made on a simple voice recorder.
Lembray transcribes in over 100 languages automatically. Translation is available on the Family and Legacy tiers, allowing you to translate any story into any other language.
There is something Lembray makes possible that most people do not expect. If the person you want to record can no longer remember their stories, you can write the story for them - a moment you know they treasured - and they read it aloud. Their voice is completely real. Their warmth comes through entirely. This is what we did in our own family.

Yes. Lembray has a built-in text editor so you can correct anything before publishing.
Lembray accepts WAV and MP3 files. Maximum file size is 500MB.
Yes - on the Legacy tier you can export your full family book as a high-quality PDF. On all tiers, individual stories can be shared via a unique link.
Only the people you choose. Stories are private by default. You share them by sending a unique link - only people with that link can read and listen.
Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your access continues until the end of your billing period. After cancellation your data is retained for 30 days, giving you time to export everything, then permanently deleted.

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We comply with UK GDPR. We never sell your data to third parties. We never use your stories for any purpose other than delivering the Lembray service to you.
Yes - the Memoir tier is completely free and does not require a payment card. Record up to 3 stories before deciding whether to upgrade.
The first 100 people who become paying Lembray customers receive the full Legacy tier at 50% off - £11.49/year - locked in forever. This is our way of saying thank you to the people who believed in Lembray early
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account settings. If you upgrade mid-year, the cost is prorated.

Yes. Lembray is designed to work in care settings. A staff member can sit with a resident and record their stories using a simple voice recorder - no smartphone needed for the resident. The recording is then uploaded to Lembray and formatted into a beautiful digital book for their family.
Even residents who can no longer remember their own stories can still participate. A family member or staff member writes the story and the resident reads it aloud. Their voice is preserved completely and naturally.
Families receive a unique link to their loved one's family book. They can read and listen from anywhere in the world, at any time, on any device.
